Overview: Graduate Program in Physiology & Biophysics

The Department of Physiology & Biophysics provides numerous opportunities for graduate students interested in pursuing their doctoral degrees.

Our department is one of several core academic departments participating in the interdisciplinary Cellular and Molecular Biosciences Program and Neuroscience Program at UC Irvine. 

Opportunities exist for students in a variety of other graduate programs at UC Irvine, since many of our faculty members hold joint appointments in departments ranging from:

Students currently enrolled in a graduate program at UC Irvine should contact individual faculty members to learn about specific graduate training opportunities in each laboratory.

Faculty members also actively participate in the Medical Scientist Training Program at UC Irvine School of Medicine, and a number of MD and PhD students have trained or are in training under faculty mentors.
